Event description
LSE hosts a conference for African-Caribbean heritage students - traditionally held as part of the UK’s Black History Month.
The Black Achievement Conference is a long-standing event organised by the LSE Widening Participation team since 2007 and is an opportunity to celebrate the UKs Black community and provide a taste of higher education whilst encouraging students to consider their university options. The theme of this year’s conference is Black Futures with a particular focus on the academic pipeline and careers. Attendees will hear from current students, staff and alumni at LSE and learn more about their experiences. Activities on the day will include an academic lecture, a Q&A panel, and an admissions session. Students will gain more of an insight into university learning and the university application process with the aim of helping them to realise more of their potential.
